School Division Meets AYP Again and Full Accreditation is Expected at All Schools
August 28, 2009

Patrick County Public Schools will meet AYP again, according to recent test results.  The division meets or exceeeds all of the federal benchmarks in testing.  This means that the school division is achieving results in testing for not only all students, but those receiving special education, students who are in poverty, students whose primary language is NOT English.  Test scores are also benchmarked by race.

FIve of the seven schools made AYP as well, with Blue Ridge missing AYP by only 0.7% for economically disadvantaged in readng.  Hardin Reynolds Memorial School missed AYP in Reading and Math for economically disadvantaged.

ALL schools are expected to achieve full accreditation again.  The state benchmarks, considered one of the toughest in the nation, include testing in reading, math, science, and social studies at various grade levels.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE STUDENTS, STAFF, PARENTS, AND COMMUNITY AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!!  WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
